WINDOW BLIND CORDS
Window cords and young children don't mix.
From infant to preschooler, they are unaware and unsuspecting of the many dangers of cords.
The key to window cord safety is to eliminate or severely reduce a child's access to windows and window cords.
Make sure all cribs and low-standing furniture (beds, bookshelves, toy boxes, etc.) are moved away from windows, preferably against another wall.
Lock pull cords into position whether the blind is up or down.
Eliminate dangling cords and secure all pull cords out of reach by using either a cleat or permanent tie-down device.
To avoid possible strangulation keep cords out of reach of children. Use these options:
- 1Clamp with paper clip.
- 2Tie off on cleat.
- 3Tie cord or chain to itself.
- 4Tie-down device.
Move crib, cot and furniture away from child's reach.
